                                                Rishi Agni

I begin explaining the name of this art,Rishi which can be translated as
seer, hermit and Agni can be translated as deity of fire, flame of life, both words are from the legendary Sanskrit language spoken in India a destination crowded more than a century ago by European travelers some of them from Victorian England, who returned to their land carry with them their travel presents, stories, and new knowledge which they shared with their most precious similars, due to the boredom in those times of the High class the new languages, rituals, traditions, religions among other things... were quite interesting to kill that boredom.

It is possible for that or maybe other reasons the egyptian, esoteric, the occult and spiritism took a boom in the Victorian era,of which I am completely obsessed and why not be fascinated if there were many advances in technology issues, revolutions, fashion, art, architecture, sex but also many bad really bad things,so I don't want to bore you with data that probably you already know then let's go the technical details.

Sketch:

I like to use for the sketch a soft paper, very thin, transparent(this is because I can bend it and make equal parts of the desing if it requires, symmetry) and erase everything without fear to fuck the paper, then you can transfer it to the indicated paper.

About the desing,I wanted to do something based on spiritism, mediums in the victorian era,so it came to me this idea of a woman at that time, young, very curious with all the label protocol, but at the same time boring and questioning everything so when she discover the history of other cultures (the story that not everyone says) she was very impressed and intrigued so decided to study and learn that secret culture soon she was submerged in rituals in which "atteinment" the contact of an entity who claimed to be the king of light, the flame that burns,SUN.

Process,shading:

Already transferred the design,I continued to delineate,a very basic delineate (like art nouveau,it's something else I'm obsessed with of which I'll tell you later)or a delineate like neotraditional girl tattoo (you can find much reference at the web) then I proceeded to apply shade, very delicate shadows
barely perceptible to then increase the level of intensity according to where the light comes from and darker layer to generate volume likewise in the hair (you may notice that the light source comes from above and there is a slight reflex in the lower part of the chin and nose) this is to give a more realistic effect.

notice that the light source comes from above and there is a slight reflex
in the lower part of the chin and nose

Costume,hairstyle:

The hairstyle is based in neotraditional tattoo style which is very
similar to the Victorian at that time they used high hairstyles with
adornments mainly,to have it loose was a more intimate and trustworthy
condition (to be at home) and add at the hairtips an illustration style like
Alphonse Mucha (art nouveau again)  and many undulations that favor
the volume and highlight.

The costume is one of the parts that I most enjoy, cause I had to investigate
a lot,I learned,I stood for a moment at the feet of a fashion designer,I put
on lace, tights, adorned with jewels, feathers and flowers, influenced by
Hindu culture (you are chaining the loose cables in the name?) anyway, like
I said before the character is in an intimate place possibly her home, then the
dress don't need fine fabrics like silk,it was more comfortable to use wool, cotton,so I made a design with these elements to give it a dark and gothic atmosphere very punctual with that era. !!!

Background :

For the background I chose symbolize the sun as the name says, deity of fire something very established in ancient egypt so I made a halo to which I gave a different touch with gold paint and contrast a bit with orange tone (
If it was something very spontaneous) and I also decided paint details as flowers and jewerly with gold and that's wa the result.

Hope you find this useful or entertaining anyway I'm new at blogger so
sorry for the strange wording or any mistake, feel free to share this with someone who likes or is beginning in art and if you have any question or whatever don't worry ask me too. I hope to upload something soon see you earthlings !!!
